Richard Allen Travers

Richard Allen Travers, 69, of McArthur, passed away Thursday, July 3, 2008, at his residence. He was born May 1, 1936, in Cambridge, Massachusetts, son of the late Joseph and Mary Ventura Travers.

He was a retired Vinton County Sheriff Deputy, an Airforce Veteran and a member of the Vinton County Senior Citizens.

Richard is survived by two sons, Greg Carla Travers of McArthur and Marc Travers of Wilkesville; three grandchildren and one brother, Robert Travers of Maine.

Friends may call from 5-7 P.M., Monday, July 7, 2008, at the Garrett-Cardaras Funeral Home, 201 W. High St., McArthur. Richards's wishes were to be cremated with no services.
