Emma Frances Ellis, 96, of Wellston, formerly of Ray, passed away Friday, August 8, 2008, in Edgewood Manor Nursing Home in Wellston. She was born March 2, 1912, in Zanesville, daughter of the late Franklin and Emma Neva Speed Tanner. Frances was married in 1928, to the late John G. ""Jack"" Ellis, who passed away in 1968.
She was a seamstress for the Columbus Glove Factory and a member of Welcome Chapel Church.
Frances is survived by a son, Virgil Eugene Betty Ellis of Columbus; grandchildren, Rick Sandy Ellis of Ray, Randy Ellis of Arizona, Vickie Ellis of Galloway and Robin and Michael Straley of Galloway; nine great grandchildren and eight great great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by an infant son and two sisters, Alice Davis and Alberta Artman.
Funeral services will be held 1 P.M., Monday, August 11, 2008 in the Garrett-Cardaras Funeral Home, 201 W. High St., McArthur with Jerry Griffith Jr. officiating. Interment will be in Londonderry Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday, from 11 A.M., until the time of service.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made in memory of Emma Frances Ellis to Edgewood Manor of Wellston, 405 N. Park Ave., Wellston, Ohio 45692.
