Lawrence A. Mckinney

Lawrence A. McKinney, 72, of Nelsonville, passed away Sunday, August 17, 2008 at Ohio State University Medical Center in Columbus. He was born October 31, 1935 in Middleport, Ohio, son of the late Kermit McKinney and Cleo Milliron Walters. He was married for 49 years to Sandy Lee Cox McKinney, who survives.

He was a carpenter for Union Local 200, a member of the Athens Elks #973 and the Nelsonville Auxiliary Police in the 1960's.

In addition to his wife, Lawrence is survived by a son, Bob Debbie McKinney of Nelsonville; daughter, Diana Joe Knight of Logan; grandchildren, Heath Traci McKinney, Matthew Trista McKinney, Travis Carr and his friend Alisha, Joey, Jennay and Ryan Knight; great grandchildren, Ciara and Katie McKinney and Aaron Thrash; sister, Barb Sam Milhoan and family of Armstrong, Ohio; sister-in-law, Susan Conrad of Nelsonville and mother-in-law, Mary Conrad of Nelsonville.

Friends may call at the Souers-Cardaras Funeral Home, 46 Fayette St., Nelsonville, on Wednesday, August 20, 2008 from 5-8 P.M. Private graveside services will be held in Greenlawn Cemetery New Addition in Nelsonville, at the convenience of the family.
