Dan G. Long

Dan G. Long, 73, of Logan, passed away Monday, August 25, 2008 at Hocking Valley Community Hospital in Logan. He was born August 30, 1934, in Olney, Illinois, son of the late Murle and Lucille Le Fever Long. Dan was married to Peggy Wilburn Long, who survives.

He retired from Carr Manufacturing in Athens and was a member of Freedom Memorial Church in Logan.

Dan is survived by sons, Dan Theresa Long of Logan and Bradley Long of Idaho; daughters, Kimberly Jill Tim Ellis of Rockbridge and Barbara Ann Kevin Dickerson of Lancaster; eight grandchildren; one great grandchild and brothers, Ben Long of Huntinton, Indiana and Robert Long of Olney, Illinois.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Hallum.

Private graveside services will be held Thursday, August 28, 2008, in New Fairview Memorial Gardens, Rockbridge, with Pastor Marvin Walker officiating. No calling hours will be observed. Arrangements are by Cardaras Funeral Home, 183 E. Second St., Logan.
