Fay I. Tolliver

March 24, 1913 — August 25, 2008

Fay I. Tolliver, 95, of Lancaster, formerly of Nelsonville, passed away, Monday, August 25, 2008 at Fairfield Medical Center, Lancaster. She was born March 24, 1913 in Athens County, the daughter of the late Riley and Flossie Whetstone Coalson. She was the widow of the late Foster C. Tolliver.

Fay was raised in the Circle Hill area, attended Chauncey High School and was a member of the Nelsonville Wesleyan Church.

She is survived by two daughters, Pam D.J. Harris of Lancaster and Debby Dale Steenrod of Nelsonville; two sons, Robert Patti Tolliver of Fremont and David Carolyn Tolliver of Chauncey; grandchildren, Tammy, Holly, Bobby, Lori, Doug, Derek, Damen, Danielle, Alicia and Michael; and 14 great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, Fay was preceded in death by two daughters, Judy Lowell Dawley and June Tolliver; two grandsons, Brian and Richard; two sisters, Orvilla Tolson and Edith Chutes; and a niece, Jeanne Beal.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM; Friday, August 29, 2008 at the Nelsonville Wesleyan Church, Chestnut and Harper Sts., Nelsonville with Rev. Michael Thomas officiating. Interment will be at Greenlawn Cemetery New Addition, Nelsonville. Friends may call Thursday, August 28, 2008 from 5-8 PM at the funeral home and one hour prior to the funeral at the church. Arrangements are by Souers-Cardaras Funeral Home, 46 Fayette St, Nelsonville.

Mrs. Tolliver's family would like to extend a very special thanks to the staff at Lanfair Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing Care in Lancaster for their kindness and loving care during Fay's stay with them the last year and a half.
