Marianne G. Knox

Marianne G. Knox, 72, of McArthur, passed away Wednesday, September 3, 2008, at her residence. She was born August 12, 1936, in McArthur, daughter of the late Loyd and Mary Collins Gill. Marianne was the widow of the late George L. Knox.

She was a member of McArthur United Methodist Church, was active musically in area churches and loved to volunteer.

Marianne is survived by three sons, D. Bruce Doreen Knox of McArthur, Brian Ginger Knox of Seattle, Washington and Carl F. Angela Knox of McArthur; five grandchildren, Conner, Evan, August, Alexander and Sydnee Knox and two brothers, David L. Gill of McArthur and Michael C. Gill of Centerville.

Funeral services will be held 11 A.M., Monday, September 8, 2008 in the McArthur United Methodist Church, 200 South Market St., McArthur, with Rev. Walt Goble officiating. Interment will be in Elk Cemetery, McArthur. Friends may call at the Garrett-Cardaras Funeral Home, 201 W. High St., McArthur, on Sunday, from 2-4 P.M. and 6-8 P.M.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made in memory of Marianne G. Knox to the McArthur United Methodist Church, PO Box 216, McArthur, Ohio 45651 or the Vinton County Educational Fund, c/o Erica Zinn, 307 W. High St., McArthur, Ohio 45651.
