Lois Jean V. Whitlatch

Lois V. ""Jean"" Whitlatch, 85, of Nelsonville, passed away, Monday, September 22, 2008 at Logan Health Care Center. She was born March 30, 1923 in Meigs County, the daughter of the late Orville and Ethel Rawlins Midkiff. She was the widow of the late James Whitlatch.

Jean was retired from the Nelsonville-York School District, was a member of Eastern Star and the Nelsonville First Christian Church.

She is survived by two grandsons, Alan Julie Sullivan and Gary Tiffany Sullivan both of Buchtel; four great grandchildren; brother, Paul A. Betty Jean Midkiff; sisters, Jane Canter and Sally Robert Shinn; a sister-in-law, Alma Jo Midkiff all of Nelsonville and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Cathy Sullivan; a sister, Garnett Withem and two brothers, Warner Midkiff and Orville Midkiff.

Graveside services will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, September 27, 2008 at Greenlawn Cemetery, Nelsonville. No calling hours will be observed. Arrangements are by Souers-Cardaras Funeral Home, 46 Fayette St., Nelsonville.
