William Ray Lester

William Ray Lester, 70, of Logan, passed away Thursday, September 25, 2008 at Pickering House in Lancaster. He was born June 18, 1938, in Wyoming County, West Virginia son of the late Matthew James and Elizabeth Blankenship Lester.

He was retired from E.C. Babbert in Canal Winchester and will be missed by his many friends. Bill was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed many good times with his family and friends.

He is survived by sons, Ray Lester and Steve Elaine Lester both of Logan, Matthew Jennifer Lester of Columbus; a daughter, Cynthia Tom Murphy of Columbus; grandchildren, Tabitha Lester, Tiffany Lester, Austin Melissa Murphy, Brandon Murphy, Rachael Murphy, Zachary Lester, Hailey Lester, Corey Lester and Hannah Lester; four great grandchildren; a sister, Janice Lacy of Daniels, WV and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, James Lester and three sisters, Gladys Cadle, Leona McCoy and Violet Breeding.

There will be a gathering of family and friends in Bill's memory at the family's discretion. Arrangements are by Cardaras Funeral Home, 183 E. Second St., Logan.
