Arthur Hamilton Keplar

Arthur Hamilton Keplar 95 of Logan passed away October 2, 2008 at his residence. He was born June 15, 1913 in Gore, Ohio son of the late Arthur Robert and Mary Ann Lemon Keplar. He was married to Marie Alice Dawley Keplar who survives.

Art retired from General Electric in Logan as a Tank Operator, was a WWII Army Veteran serving in the European Theatre Battle of the Bulge as a Staff Sgt. In the 29th Infantry, was a member of Kline Memorial U.M. Church, the Logan Moose Lodge, was a 50 year member of Mingo Lodge #171 F &AM, and in 1977 he was Glass Maker of the Year at General Electric.

He is survived by a son Don Sharon Keplar of Logan, a daughter Jolene Dick Harden of Logan, Grandchildren Rich Harden, Joelle Roger Giffin, and Jennifer Craig Phillips, 7 Great Grandchildren, 3 nephews and 1 niece.

Art was preceded in death by a sister Opal Coe and 2 brothers Ernest and Darley Keplar.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00PM Monday in the Cardaras Funeral Home 183 E. Second St. Logan with Rev. Clarence Thompson officiating. Interment will be in Carbon Hill Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 2-4 & 6-8PM. Military graveside services will be conducted by the Hocking Co. Honor Guard.
