Douglas Edward Mace

Douglas Edward Mace, 37, of Nelsonville, passed away, Thursday, October 9, 2008 in Chillicothe as a result of an accident while installing a utility pole. He was born October 27, 1970 in Nelsonville, son of Leroy Edward ""Butch"" Mace Jr. of Carbon Hill and Connie Gary Dalton Hazlett of Nelsonville. He was married to Angel L. Rowe Mace of Nelsonville, who survives.

Doug graduated from Hocking College with a degree in Culinary Arts and was formerly a chef. He was employed by All American Electric in Chillicothe. He loved life and fishing and helping people in need. He was a workaholic who loved his nieces and nephews.

In addition to his wife and parents, Doug was survived by a son, Christopher Mace; a daughter, Savannah Hieronimus of Nelsonville; a brother, Daniel Christine Mace of Logan; paternal grandparents, Leroy Edward and Louise ""Granny"" Mace Sr. of Logan; nephews and nieces, Nickolas and Nathan Mace, Joshua Rowe, Emily Rowe, Emily Warren, Chance and Johnny Brough, Calista, Garrett and Alana Bruce; aunts and uncles, Richard Suzette Mace of Gore, Tammy Russ Hoyd of McArthur, Vicky Shoults of Logan, Mary Jane Lax of Nelsonville, Joe and Kathy Dalton of Lancaster, Lucretia Fred Adams, Judy Mike Crihfield, Cathy Jarrett Stage, Charles Dalton and Hubert Dalton all of Nelsonville and Susan John Whitmore of Parma; sisters and brothers-in law, Jill Rowe of Nelsonville, Sarah Shane Bruce of Nelsonville, Renee Charley Brough of Miamisburg and Jack Michelle Rowe of Goleta, CA; and grandmother-in-law, Katherine Dana Davis Andrews of McMinnville, TN.

He was preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Joe and Kathleen Dalton; aunts, Libby Lewis and Becky Steenrod; uncle, Tom Dalton; mother-in law, Alana McCombs; father-in-law, Everett Rowe; cousins, Adam Dalton and Joey Dalton.

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 PM, Sunday, October 12, 2008 at Souers-Cardaras Funeral Home, 46 Fayette St., Nelsonville with Rev. Michael Thomas officiating. Cremation will take place following the service. Friends may call at the funeral home Sunday from 1 PM until the time of the service.
