Lillian Darlene Martin

Lillian Darlene Martin, 73, of New Plymouth, passed away Friday, October 10, 2008 at Arcadia Acres Nursing Home in Logan. She was born February 11, 1935, in Ashville, Ohio, daughter of the late Clarence and Vaundell Sampsill Johnson. Darlene was married to Robert Martin, who survives.

She worked at Dee's Diner with her sister Delores, loved researching her genealogy and blue grass music. Darlene graduated from Buchtel York High School and never met a stranger.

She is survived by sons, Gary Hunter of Athens, Mike Hunter of New Plymouth and Glen Hunter of New Plymouth; stepson, Paul Crystal Martin of Pleasantville; stepdaughters, Bonnie Robert Speciale of Redway, California, Jodie Robert Kinlin of Stuart, Florida, Wendy Randy Holbrook of Lancaster and Tracey Scott William of Ironton; numerous grandchildren; three great grandchildren; brothers, Clyde Nancy Johnson of Logan, Carl Bev Chaney Johnson of Nelsonville, Bob Marchetta Johnson of Nelsonville and Denver Sue Johnson of Nelsonville and sisters, Marilyn Johnson of Logan, Delores Storts of Nelsonville and Patty Howson of New Marshfield.

In addition to her parents, Darlene was preceded in death by her brothers, James ""Junior"" Johnson, Don Johnson, Arthur Dutch Johnson and Jack Johnson.

Funeral services will be held 1 P.M., Wednesday, October 15, 2008 in the Souers-Cardaras Funeral Home, 46 Fayette St., Nelsonville with James Martin officiating. Interment will be in Asbury Cemetery, Hocking County. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday, from 2-4 P.M. and 6-8 P.M.
