Elaine Swyers Russell

Elaine Swyers Russell, 87, of Logan, passed away Monday, October 20, 2008 at Hocking Valley Community Hospital in Logan. She was born May 17, 1921 in Murray City, daughter of the late John E. and Elizabeth Skidmore Swyers. Elaine was the widow of the late Charles E. Russell.

She was a 1939 graduate of Murray City High School.

Elaine is survived by a son, Gregg A. Kathy Russell of Logan; two daughters, Judy L. Russell of Logan and Jody L. Russell of Logan; two nephews; four nieces; sisters-in-law, Alice Soles of Buchtel and Mary Swyers of Corning and friends, Marie Mayfield of Rockford, Illinois and Christy Bartow of Logan.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Dale and Leslie Swyers; sisters, Norma Robson and Louise Martin and a niece, Patricia Foltz.

Funeral services will be held 1 P.M., Thursday, October 23, 2008 in the Cardaras Funeral Home, 183 E. Second St., Logan with Rev. Gerald Frazee officiating. Interment will be in Oak Grove Cemetery, Logan. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday, from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M.
