Myrtle Louise Rutter

Myrtle Louise Rutter, 64, of McArthur, passed away Monday, November 3, 2008 at her residence. She was born January 20, 1944 in Vinton County, daughter of the late Walter and Maudie Zornes Cartee. Myrtle was the widow of the late Gerald Dean Rutter.

She is survived by sons, Toby L. Mary Jane Nicholson Thacker of Coalton, Greenville ""Dale"" Althi Thacker, Gerald Rutter Jr. of McArthur and Michael Rutter of McArthur; a daughter, Tonta Kevin Bethel Bigham of Ray; seventeen grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; a brother, Durwood Cartee of Hamden; sisters, Flossie Cartee of McArthur, Thelma Adams of Hamden, Garnet Daft of Albany, Marcella Harold Lafferty of McArthur, Alma Rodney Peoples of McArthur, Leona Maynard of Hamden, Minnie Herman Collins of McArthur and Vivian Yates of Piketon and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, Myrtle was preceded in death by her first husband, Greenie Thacker and two sisters, Alene and Lillian Cartee.

Funeral services will be held 11 A.M., Friday, November 7, 2008 in the Garrett-Cardaras Funeral Home, 201 W. High St., McArthur. Interment will be in Mt. Zion Cemetery, Vinton County. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday, from 2-4 P.M. and 6-8 P.M.
