Hazel Gayle Mcnichols

Hazel Gayle McNichols, 74, of South Bloomingville, passed away Tuesday, November 11, 2008 at Adena Regional Medical Center in Chillicothe. She was born September 5, 1934, in Vinton County, daughter of the late Frank R. and Leoda Stringfellow Baker.

Hazel retired from the City of Columbus Water Division, was a member of Good Shepard Community Church in Columbus and a 1951 graduate of Allensville High School.

She is survived by a sister, Geneva Tatman of South Bloomingville; special niece, Sherry Gregory Hughes of McArthur; special friend, June Forrest of McArthur and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Hazel was preceded in death by two sisters, Helen Betts and Ethel Tatman Payne; a brother John Baker; brothers-in-law, Dorsa Betts and Byron ""Buck"" Tatman and several nieces, nephews and special friends.

Funeral services will be held 1 P.M., Friday, November 14, 2008 in the Garrett-Cardaras Funeral Home, 201 W. High St., McArthur with Rev. Larry Irvin officiating. Interment will be in Wolf Cemetery, Vinton County. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday, from 5-8 P.M.
