Mamie Esther Mcguire

Mamie Esther McGuire, 95, of Nelsonville, passed away, Wednesday, November 26, 2008 at Hickory Creek Nursing Center, The Plains. She was born April 25, 1913 in New Marshfield, the daughter of the late William and Bessie Rutter Woodrum.

She was a member of the Oak Grove Wesleyan Church, Nelsonville and was formerly the head cook at Mt. St. Mary's Hospital, Nelsonville.

She is survived by daughters-in-law, Jean Evans of Albany and Rosemary Evans of Nelsonville; grandchildren, Jason Hall of Florida, Nedra Plant of Nelsonville, Shannon Evans of Nelsonville, Brenda Waugh of The Plains, Bob Poling of Nelsonville, Terry Teri Poling of Athens and Chris Dave Bolin of Athens; brother, Cecil Vi Woodrum of New Concord and sister-in-law Jean Woodrum of Nelsonville.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by daughter, Sherry Hall; sons, Dale and Donald Evans; two infant daughters; sister, Violet Phillips; brothers, Chester and Murl Woodrum and an infant brother.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, December 1, 2008 at Souers-Cardaras Funeral Home, 46 Fayette St., Nelsonville with Rev. David Cogar officiating. Interment will be at Whitmore Cemetery, Buchtel. Friends may call Sunday, November 30, 2008 from 4-8 PM at the funeral home.
