John W. Fuller, 91, of New Plymouth, passed away Thursday, December 25, 2008 at Logan Health Care Center in Logan. He was born August 11, 1917, in Pittsburgh Hollow, Hocking County, son of the late William ""Will"" Fuller and Maggie Largent Fuller William Nahm. John was the widower of the late Waveline Marx Fuller, they were married for fifty years.
He spent most of his life as a coal miner. John volunteered for the Marines during WWII and served in the Pacific Theater, Okinawa, Saipan and Tinian. He also attended Asbury Methodist Church.
He is survived by two sons, Johnny Sandy Fuller of North Point, Florida and Donald Charlene Fuller of New Plymouth, Ohio; nephew, Dave Williams of Hollow Rock, Tennessee whom John reared; eight grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren and a brother, Wilbur J. Pauleta Fuller of Logan.
In addition to his parents, stepfather and wife, John was preceded in death by four brothers, Clarence, Floyd, Elmer and Ralph Fuller and three sisters, Etta Lanning, Edna Dain and Mary Schooley.
Funeral services will be held 11 A.M., Monday, December 29, 2008 in the Souers-Cardaras Funeral Home, 46 Fayette St., Nelsonville with Rev. Dr. Walt Goble officiating. Interment will be in Asbury Cemetery, Athens County with military graveside services be conducted by the Combined Color Guard Unit. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday, from 5-8 P.M.
