William Adams

December 16, 1913 — February 7, 2009

William Adams, 95, of New Marshfield, passed away Saturday, February 7, 2009 at his residence. He was born December 16, 1913 in Nelsonville, son of the late Orley Benson Adams and Maud Humphry Adams. He was the widower of the late Mary Shelton Adams.

After working 17 years in the Coal Mines, Mr. Adams was a Union Carpenter for 50 years before retiring to farm.

He is survived by a son, Ted Gloria Adams of McArthur; daughters, Nancy Adams of Albany and Elaine Dave Blanken of Springfield; grandchildren, Tim Kimberly Adams of Liberty Township, Ohio, Todd Adams and Tad Adams both of Fairborn, Bob Adams of Carroll, Annette MCGlaughlin of McArthur, Suzanne Walker of Shawnee, OK, Justin Swart of New Marshfield, Melissa Sheldon Plaugher of Athens, Clinton Swart of Little Rock, AR, Beth Steve Johnson of Urbana, Pamela Matt Raines of Springfield and Billy Blanken of New York City, NY; great grandchildren, Jessica, Clayton, Madison, Gabriel, Courtney, Ryan, Tanner, Alicia, Andrew, Casey, Trevor, Wesley, Nicole, Colten, Nathan, Abigail, Ashley and Katelyn; a brother, Joe Adams of Nelsonville; very special friend, Yvonne Woods and his caregivers, Loretta, Mandy, Lori, Gloria, Vickie, Jenny and Sam.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Tim Adams; brothers, Raymond, John, Guy, Frank and Roy Adams; sisters, Mable Kyre, Ruth Parry and Helen Adams.

Funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM, Wednesday, February 11, 2009 at Connett United Methodist Church, Nelsonville, Ohio with Rev. David Cogar officiating. Burial will be at the Connett Cemetery, Nelsonville, Ohio. Friends may call Tuesday, February 10, 2009 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at Souers-Cardaras Funeral Home, 46 Fayette St., Nelsonville and one hour prior to the service at the church.
