John Lewis Glab

July 18, 1915 — February 16, 2009

John Lewis Glab, 93, of Millfield, passed away Monday, February 16, 2009 at Hickory Creek Nursing Home in The Plains. He was born July 18, 1915 in Cincinnati, Ohio, son of the late Joseph Jacob and Alice Mae Sullivan Glab. John was the widower of the late Grace Elizabeth Lewis Glab, who passed away April 23, 2007.

He retired from GTE in 1977, was a WWII Army Veteran serving with the 746th Railroad Operating Battalion and was an avid model railroader. John had a sharp mind, excellent memory, good wit and enjoyed telling stories. John was known as ""The Succinct Caller"" by listeners of WATH Radio.

He is survived by a daughter, Sandra William Lake of Millfield; grandchildren, Lori Danielle Lake of Millfield and Sean Robin Lake of North Hollywood, California; a brother, Harry Robert Barbara Glab of Arizona and a sister, Dorothy Mary Robert Glab Luken of Cincinnati.

In addition to his parents and wife, John was preceded in death by a brother, George Francis Glab and sister, Maybelle Robinette.

Johns wish was to be cremated. There will be no services observed at this time. Arrangements are by Souers-Cardaras Funeral Home, 46 Fayette St., Nelsonville.
