Linda Sue Newman

Linda Sue Newman, 59, of Urbana, passed away Monday, February 16, 2009 at Mercy Memorial Hospital in Urbana. She was born January 23, 1950, in Nelsonville, daughter of the late Harley and Adrienne Weaver Hook. Linda was married for 32 years to Robert K. Newman, who survives.

She was formerly employed at Siemens and loved spending time with her grandchildren and bowling.

Linda is survived by a daughter, Anissa K. Mick Lanning Roesner of Bellefontaine; son, Duane E. Cheryl Lanning of Urbana; grandchildren, Trevor Roesner and Gunnar Madyson and Cooper Lanning; stepchildren, Trent Charlene Newman of Urbana, Christy Butch Lanning of Nelsonville, Bobbi Call of Buchtel, Jacque Jack Geskie of Ocala, Florida and Candy Ed Berube of Ocala Florida; twelve step grandchildren; special friend, Joyce Bishop of Nelsonville and a brother, Keith Ursula Hook of Germany.

In addition to her parents, Linda was preceded in death by a brother, Gary Hook.

Funeral services will be held 1 P.M., Saturday, February 21, 2009 in the Souers-Cardaras Funeral Home, 46 Fayette St., Nelsonville with Rev. Ernie Perkins officiating. Cremation will follow the services. Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday, from 11 A.M. until the time of the service.
