Jay C. Brown

Jay C. Brown, 79, of New Straitsville, went to be with the Lord, Tuesday, February 24, 2009. He was born May 10, 1929, in Marion Township, Hocking County, son of the late Floyd and Lola Sheets Brown. Jay was the widower of the late Wanda Hurst Brown.

He retired from Logan Clay Products, was a member of Heavenly View Tabernacle and a former Monday Creek Township Trustee.

Jay is survived by sons, Dave Annie Brown of New Straitsville and Mark Mitzi Brown of Rockbridge; daughter, Darlene Larry Burd of Lancaster; six grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; a brother, Lee and sisters, Novella, Cherry, Carol and Serena.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a son, Terry; brother, Richard and a sister, Crystal.

A celebration of life will be held 10 A.M., Thursday, February 26, 2009 in the Cardaras Funeral Home, 183 E. Second St., Logan with Rev. Albert Edwards and Rev. Charles Hurst officiating. Interment will be in Grandview Cemetery, Bremen. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday, from 6-8 P.M.
