Goldie Mae Mcdaniel

Goldie Mae McDaniel, 100, of Columbus, formerly of Logan, passed away Tuesday, March 3, 2009 at Wexner Heritage House in Columbus. She was born May 26, 1908, in Nelsonville, daughter of the late William A. and Sarah Belle Devore Flood. Goldie was the widow of the late Ted R. McDaniel, who passed away in 1971.

She was formerly employed at William Brooks Shoe Company in Nelsonville and was a former member of the Nelsonville Emblem Club, the Variety Club in Rockbridge and the VFW Auxiliary in Logan.

Goldie is survived by a son, Gary M. Cathy McDaniel of Grove City; three grandchildren, Cheryl Steve McCartney of Carrol, Tina Dave Schenk of Buckeye Lake and Mark Rhonda McDaniel of Pickerington; seven great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren and a sister, Irene Emrick of Logan.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Leona Hunt, Vivian Flood and Ilene Risch and three brothers, Calvin, George and William P. Flood.

Funeral services will be held 12 Noon, Friday, March 6, 2009 in the Cardaras Funeral Home, 183 E. Second St., Logan with Rev. Mark Daniels officiating. Interment will be in New Fairview Memorial Gardens in Rockbridge. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday, one hour prior to the service.
