Harriet Sophia Mays

Harriet Sophia Mays, 82, of Logan, passed away Friday, March 6, 2009, at The Pickering House in Lancaster. She was born May 20, 1926 in Logan, daughter of the late Pearl Joseph and Sophia Semons Wray Sr. Harriet was married for 61 years to Lester Mays, who survives.

She was a member of Smith Chapel United Methodist Church in Logan.

In addition to her husband, Harriet is survived by a brother, Lowell Wary of Mansfield; sisters, Patsy Williams of Columbus and Mary White of Pataskala; sisters-in-law, Polly Wray of Indiana, Juanita Wray, Irene Lehman and Bessie Mays all of Logan; brother-in-law, Earl Mays of Logan; several nieces and nephews and special canine friends, Rusty and Boots.

In addition to her parents, Harriet was preceded in death by six brothers and six sisters.

Funeral services will be held 10 A.M., Monday, March 9, 2009 in the Cardaras Funeral Home, 183 E. Second St., Logan with Andy Good officiating. Interment will be in New Fairview Memorial Gardens, Rockbridge. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday, from 2-4 P.M. and 6-8 P.M.
