Dean W. Mccune

June 29, 1927 — March 25, 2009

Dean W. McCune, 81, of Logan, passed away Wednesday, March 25, 2009 at the Pickering House in Lancaster. He was born June 29, 1927 in Hocking County, son of the late Alford E. and Emma C. Brown McCune. Dean was married for 60 years to the late Castleane B. Andy McCune, who passed away November 12, 2007.

He retired from Carborundum in Logan and was a former school bus driver for Logan Hocking Schools. Dean was a Korean Army Veteran and a member of New Zion United Methodist Church.

He is survived by a son, Gregory Laurene McCune of Logan; two granddaughters, Chelsey and Jessica McCune and a special sister-in-law, Martha McCune of Logan.

In addition to his parents and wife, Dean was preceded in death by a sister, Mabel Harden and three brothers, Richard, Harry and Ernie McCune.

Funeral services will be held 2 P.M., Sunday, March 29, 2009 in the Cardaras Funeral Home, 183 E. Second St., Logan with Rev. John Williams officiating. Interment will be in Keeton Cemetery, Vinton County. Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday, from 4-8 P.M.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made in memory of Dean W. McCune to FairHope Hospice, 282 Sells Rd., Lancaster, Ohio 43130.
