Frank John Wachovec Sr.

Frank John Wachovec Sr., 83, of McArthur, passed away Tuesday, March 31, 2009 at his residence. He was born March 7, 1926, in Rockford, Illinois, son of the late Peter Frank and Marie Anna Stehlik Wachovec. Frank was married to Rosemary Christine Wachovec, who survives. They were married July 17, 1948.

He retired as a rehabilitation director for Pioneer in Chillicothe, was a WWII Navy Veteran, a member of the McArthur VFW Post #5299 and was a volunteer for the McArthur Senior Citizens Center and the Chillicothe V.A.

In addition to his wife, Frank is survived by sons, Paul Connie Wachovec of Chillicothe, Michael Wachovec of McArthur, John Rebecca Wachovec of Cuyahoga Falls, Christopher Kimberly Wachovec of Chillicothe, Stephen Kit Wachovec of Chillicothe and Timothy Gina Wachovec of Chillicothe; daughters, Ellen Terence Staggs of Chillicothe, Barbara Barry Reid of Pickerington, Mary Tom Romans of Chillicothe, Theresa Benjamin Hash of Bidwell, Jane Mark Moss of Chillicothe and Peggy Jack Kinder of Zanesville; 32 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren and three sisters, Elise Cozzone of Garfield Heights, Beatrice Bennett of Berlin Center and Barbara Paterson of San Jose, California.

He was preceded in death by a son, Frank John Wachovec Jr. and three brothers, Ed, Peter and Louie Wachovec.

A memorial service will be held 1 P.M., Friday, April 3, 2009 in the Garrett-Cardaras Funeral Home, 201 W. High St., McArthur, with Pastor Dave Peoples officiating. Military services being conducted at the funeral home by the McArthur VFW Post #5299. Friends may call at the funeral home one hour prior to the services.
