Lloyd Junior Simonton

Lloyd ""Junior"" Simonton, 66, of Nelsonville, passed away Tuesday, April 7, 2009 at his residence. He was born May 28, 1942 in Nelsonville, son of the late Lloyd and Mabel Wycuff Simonton.

He worked at Logan Clay for 38 years and was a member of the Nelsonville Eagles and the Logan Moose Lodge.

Junior is survived by his companion of 28 years, Mary Woodrum; children, Christy Hart, Kim Simonton, Scott Simonton and Tara Simonton; eleven grandchildren; one great grandson; brothers, William Jean Ann Simonton of Nelsonville, Marion Simonton of Nelsonville, Raymond Simonton of Nelsonville and James Betty Simonton of Nelsonville; a sister, Kathern Larry Bell of Orlando, Florida; brother-in-law, Jim Goble of Lancaster; special niece, Chris David Moore of Lancaster and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Anna Mae Rusconi and Mary Goble; two infant daughters; son, David Woodrum and special dogs, Shadow and Lazzy.

Funeral services will be held 1 P.M., Friday, April 10, 2009 in the Souers-Cardaras Funeral Home, 46 Fayette St., Nelsonville. Interment will be in Mt. Zion Cemetery, Hocking County. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday, from 2-4 P.M. and 6-8 P.M.
