Robert L. Sheward

Robert L. Sheward, 84, of Millfield, passed away Sunday, April 12, 2009 at O'Bleness Memorial Hospital in Athens. He was born March 1, 1925 in Jackson, son of the late Clifford and Inez Jacobs Sheward. Robert was married to Donna Standall Sheward, who survives.

He was a retired millwright, WWII Navy Veteran and a member of Millwright Local 1241 in Columbus.

Robert is survived by sons, Frederick Lee Sondra Sheward of Maysville, Donald E. Diane Sheward of Springfield, Robert D. Ruth Sheward of Nelsonville, Paul David Sheward of Bloomville and William A. Sheward of Millfield; fourteen grandchildren and thirty-one great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Kenneth, Otis and Chester Sheward; four sisters, Frances Nye, Rosell Windon, Eleanore Isrial and Lois Carey and a son, Jimmy Sheward.

Funeral services will be held 11 A.M., Wednesday, April 15, 2009 in the Souers-Cardaras Funeral Home, 46 Fayette St., Nelsonville, with Rev. Kenneth Brown officiating. Interment will be in Hilltop Cemetery, Millfield, with military graveside services being conducted by the Combined Color Guard Unit. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday, from 2-4 P.M. and 6-8 P.M.
