Jennie Simons

Jennie Simons, 86, of Nelsonville, passed away, Saturday, May 2, 2009. She was born February 4, 1923 in New York, the daughter of the late Benjamin and Rose Cloitti Freda. She was the widow of the late Otto Simons.

She is survived by a daughter, Rosemary Bell of Logan; four grandchildren; five step grandchildren; four great grandchildren; several step great grandchildren; brothers, Vinny Toni Freda of South Carolina and Joey Freda of New York; a sister, Helen Manciso of New York and a special friend, Betty Lyons of Nelsonville.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband; a son; Thomas Bauer; son-in-law, Skip Bell; great grandson, Brodie McCrady; two sisters and a brother.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, May 6, 2009 at the Souers-Cardaras Funeral Home, 46 Fayette St., Nelsonville with Rev. Ed True officiating. Interment will be at Greenlawn Cemetery, Nelsonville. Friends may call Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the funeral home.
