Mary Adeline Wend Gabriel

Mary Adeline Wend Gabriel, 52, of Nelsonville, passed away Sunday, May 10, 2009 at Mt Carmel Hospital West, Columbus. She was born September 7, 1956 in Nelsonville, daughter of the late Robert M. ""Rusty"" and Eileen A. ""Eeny"" Hughes Wend.

Mary was a 1974 graduate of Nelsonville York High School and had degrees from Hocking College in Accounting and Business. She was a member of the Athens Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses.

She is survived by a brother, John Carol Wend of Chillicothe; sisters, Margie Mike Jonas Wend of Nelsonville, Janey Todd Boney of Nelsonville; sister-in-law, Susan Wend of Nelsonville; daughter, Erica L. William Tripp of Chillicothe; grandson, William ""Billy"" Tripp; aunt, Virginia Bowland of Nelsonville; nieces and nephews, Chuck Bee Wend of Hebron, KY, Tony Wend of Cincinnati, Jackie Jody Flynn of Cincinnati, Cari J.J. Freitag of San Francisco, CA, Nathan Barr of Greenville, SC, Tiffany Steve Mace of Nelsonville, Hayley Winchell Terri Walker of Nelsonville, Wendy Ann Jason Black of Bryan, TX, Amanda Eric Baughman Rutter of Bryan, TX and Corbin Boney of Nelsonville; several beloved great nieces and nephews including very special great nieces, Miranda, Miriah and Kylie Winchell and Mary Walker; special friends Sandy Kranz and family and Cindy and John Rutter and family.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Bill Wend.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, May 16, 2009 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 9110 Johnson Rd., The Plains, just below the Athens Messenger. Arrangements are by Souers-Cardaras Funeral Home, 46 Fayette St., Nelsonville.
