Demarius S. Decker

DeMarius S. Decker, 91, of Nelsonville, passed away Wednesday, May 13, 2009 at University Hospital in Cincinnati. She was born November 30, 1917, in Nelsonville, daughter of the late Jerry L. and Lulu Evans Sanders. DeMarius was the widow of the late William G. Decker, who passed away March 30, 2003.

She was a WAC Veteran of WWII and a member of the First Christian Church in Nelsonville, Ohio. DeMarius resided with her daughter Jeanmarie in Peebles, Ohio for the past six years.

She is survived by daughters, Lynn E. Decker of Nelsonville, Jane Ann Jeff Springston of Boca Raton, Florida and Jeanmarie Decker of Peebles, Ohio; grandchildren, Eric Stephanie Sullivan of Logan, Jennifer L. Beech of Peebles, Ohio and Mandy Marie Danny Knechtly of Peebles, Ohio and great grandchildren, Rylee Sullivan, Cruz Beech-Turner, Sol Beech-Turner, Zane Knechtly and Grady Knechtly.

In addition to her parents and husband, DeMarius was preceded in death by one sister, Jennie Sanders and two brothers, Francis and Donald Sanders.

Funeral services will be held 1:45 P.M., Sunday, May 17, 2009 in the First Christian Church, 200 Fort Street, Nelsonville, with Rev. Paul Taylor officiating. Interment will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, Nelsonville, with military graveside services being conducted by the Combined Color Guard Unit. Friends may call at the First Christian Church, Sunday, from 12:30 P.M., until the time of the service.

A ""Celebration Of Life"" potluck dinner will be held at 4 P.M., Sunday, following the services at the First Christian Church.

Flowers will be accepted or contributions may be made to the First Christian Church Building Fund, 200 Fort Street, Nelsonville, Ohio 45764.
