Gilbert C. Weiss

Gilbert C. ""Gib"" Weiss, 94, of Omaha, Nebraska, formerly of Nelsonville, passed away Wednesday, May 27, 2009 at the Nebraska Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation, Omaha, Nebraska. He was born February 2, 1915 in Nelsonville, Ohio son of the late Earl and Nora Belle Springer Weiss. He was the widower of Margie Cope Weiss who passed away June 18, 1989.

Gib was a 1935 graduate of Nelsonville High School. He was a World War II veteran of the Untied States Army and a former member of Nelsonville V.F.W. Post 3467. He was retired from the William Brooks Shoe Company.

He is survived by a son Randy Weiss and his wife Joyce of Council Bluffs, Iowa.

In addition to his wife and parents, Gib was preceded in death by a sister, Selma Weiss and a brother, Clifford Weiss.

Mr. Weiss was cremated in Omaha and a celebration of his life will be held at a later date. Arrangements are by Souers-Cardaras Funeral Home, 46 Fayette St., Nelsonville.
