Roger Everett Eberts, 72, of Hamden, Ohio, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Wednesday, June 10, 2009. He was born September 30, 1936 in Hamden, Ohio, to Elvetta nee Wiseman Eberts and the late Everett Eberts.
He graduated from Hamden High School and obtained a Mine Foreman license from Muskingum College. Over his lifetime he was a trucker, lumberman, miner, mine foreman and co-owner of R&S Coal. He was a hard worker who dearly loved his Lord and his family. In 1954 he was united in marriage to Carol nee Peters Eberts, who survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Jeff Kathleen of Merritt Island, Florida and Mike Dana of Jackson; four grandsons, Erik and Isaac Eberts of Merritt Island, Florida, Michael Eberts of Jackson, Ohio and Kyle Eberts of Delray, Florida; step grandchildren, Jessica Matt Stallbaum of Merritt Island, Florida and Philip Joia Dooley of Valparaiso, Florida; great grandchildren, Reagan and Hudson Stallbaum of Merritt Island, Florida and Keenan and Moriah Dooley of Valparaiso, Florida. In addition, Roger is survived by his sister, Sally Roger Ballard of Naples, Florida and brothers, Glen and Steve Eberts of Hamden, Ohio; brothers and sisters-in-law, Janet and Alan Cox, Bob and Patty Peters and George and Virginia Thompson; nieces and nephews, Cheryl James of Nashville, Tennessee, David Nina Ballard of Powell, Ohio, Matthew Eberts of Hamden, Ohio, Jeremy Kenda Peters of Kentucky, Matt Jennifer Peters of Jackson Ohio, Doug Jill Cox of Gallipolis, Ohio, Deric Mary Cox of Chillicothe, Ohio, Donna Grehl of Aurora, Indiana, Trudy, Roger, George and Karen Thompson of Bill Center, Ohio and several great nieces and nephews.
Roger was preceded in death by his father, Everett ""Ez"" Eberts and grandparents, Pearl and Elizabeth Wiseman and Clarence and Evelyn Eberts; mother and father-in-law, John and Vangie Peters; sister-in-law, Judy Myers and niece, Karlita Myers.
Calling hours will be Sunday, June 14, 2009 from 2 P.M. to 8 P.M. at Trinity Chapel Church of Christ in Christian Union, 14545 SR 93, Jackson, Ohio. Rogers ""Home Going"" Celebration service will be held Monday, June 15, 2009 at 11 A.M. in Trinity Chapel Church of Christian Union with Pastor Bob Jones Officiating. Burial will be in Hamden Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggest contributions be made in memory of Roger Everett Eberts, to Trinity Chapel Church of Christian Union, 14545 SR 93 Jackson, Ohio, 45640.
