Jack L. ""Chub"" Edwards, 77, of Nelsonville, passed away Monday, June 29, 2009 at Ohio State University Medical Center in Columbus. He was born January 16, 1932, in Hocking County, son of the late Lester and Gladys Pargeon Edwards. Jack was the widower of the late Clara Belle Campbell Edwards.

He was a retired construction worker, a Korean War Army Veteran and a member of the Nelsonville VFW.

He is survived by daughters, Jackie Gerry Teal of Nelsonville, Connie Tim Sheets of Nelsonville, Sandy Lowell Campbell of Millfield, Darla Bob Coakley of Lancaster and Betty Jo Brian Dowler Edwards of The Plains; twenty grandchildren; forty five great grandchildren; son-in-law, Gary Sheets; sister-in-law, Marlene Edwards; his dog, Jake; brothers, Donald Sharon Edwards of Frostproof, Florida and Oscar Susie Edwards of Nelsonville and sisters, Jeanne Summers of Logan and Charlene Donald Fuller of New Plymouth.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Christy Sheets; a grandson, Joey Edwards; brothers, Wayne, Bill and Ray Edwards and sisters, Doris Hopkins and Mary Grinstead.

A military graveside service will be conducted by The Combined Color Guard Unit, 1 P.M., Sunday, July 12, 2009 in Groves Cemetery, Hocking County. No calling hours will be observed. Arrangements are by Souers-Cardaras Funeral Home, 46 Fayette St., Nelsonville.
