Arnold Coleman

Arnold Coleman, 69, of McArthur, passed away Thursday, July 23, 2009 at his residence. He was born May 13, 1940, in Pikeville, Kentucky, son of the late Henery and Lavern ""Vernie"" Coleman. Arnold was the widower of the late Sarah Frances Lemaster Coleman.

He enjoyed attending different churches and was a former volunteer for Care Out Reach.

Arnold is survived by sons, Arnold Cheryl Smith Coleman Jr. and Robert E. Coleman; daughters, Frances Annette Wayne Tatman, Brenda K. Donald Unger Shotts and Barbara J. James Dempsey Coleman; grandchildren, Jeff L., Autum R. and Steven A. Coleman, Wayne J. Tatman Jr., Sarah M. and Jessica ""Jettie Lynn"" Tatman, Chad E. and Charles L. Shotts, Chelsea and Tiffany Unger, Kimberly J., Jeremiah A. Dempsey, Breahanna M., Shauna M. and Jessica L. Dempsey, James W. Dempsey III, Ryan R. and Robert L. Coleman; great grandchildren, Elizabeth D., Reese and Eathan A. Coleman, Isac K. Faris and Caitlyn E. Pickett; a brother, Eugene Betty Coleman; sisters-in-law, Martha Coleman, Bonnie Pete Butcher and Mary and Helen Lemaster; brother-in-law, William Jeanatte Lemaster and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a brother Ralph Coleman; a sister, Evelyn Coleman; a granddaughter, Carleigh Nicole Shotts; and brothers-in-law, James and Robert Lemaster and Calvin Coleman.

Funeral services will be held 11 A.M., Monday, July 27, 2009 in the Garrett-Cardaras Funeral Home, 201 W. High St., McArthur, with Pastor Wayne Perry and Pastor Gordon Simpson officiating. Interment will be in Mt. Zion Cemetery, Vinton County. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday, from 2-4 P.M. and 6-8 P.M.
