Marletta Joan Jakie Betts

Marletta Joan ""Jakie"" Betts, 43, of McArthur, passed away Monday, August 31, 2009 at OSU Medical Center in Columbus. She was born September 3, 1965, in Athens, daughter of the late Manring and Mary Markin Perry. Jakie was the widow of the late Merle E. Betts.

She was employed at Austin Powder Company.

Jakie is survived by two sons, Nathan E. Betts and Garrett Betts; a brother, Wesley Perry and thirteen sisters, Rose Mullins, Dorothy Reed, Helen Hall, Shirley McCathren, Donna Radune, Maxine Smith, Marsha O'Leary, Ruth Thompson, Patty Hughes, Maggie Hardy, Peggy McNichols, Alice Waldren and Judy Mace.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Ronnie Perry.

Funeral services will be held 10 A.M., Friday, September 4, 2009 in the Allensville Church of Christ in Christian Union. Interment will be in Garrett Cemetery, Vinton County. Friends may call at the Garrett-Cardaras Funeral Home, 201 W. High St., McArthur, on Thursday, from 4-8 P.M.
