Raymond Reynolds

Raymond Reynolds, 92, of Hamden, formerly of Londonderry, passed away Tuesday, September 1, 2009 at O'Bleness Memorial Hospital in Athens. He was born June 28, 1917, in Vinton County, son of the late James and Amanda Mace Reynolds. Raymond was the widower of the late Roxie Bethel Reynolds.

He retired from the railroad in 1977, was a lifetime member of the McArthur Eagles AERIE #2279, a member of the McArthur VFW Post #5299 and he attended Log Pile Church.

Raymond is survived by a good friend, Stella Laferty of Hamden.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a brother, Elmer Reynolds and a sister, Edna Claypool.

Funeral services will be held 1 P.M., Saturday, September 5, 2009, in the Garrett-Cardaras Funeral Home, 201 W. High St., McArthur. Interment will be in Londonderry Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday, from 5-8 P.M. with Eagles services being held at 7:30 P.M.
