Thomas H. Collier, 66, of Wilkesville, died Friday, September 18, 2009 at Holzer Medical Center, Jackson. He was born November 15, 1942 in Beauty, Ky. He was the son of the late William David and Flora Mollett Collier.

Tom was an active Pastor for 22 years. He pastored churches in Beauty, Ky., Racine, Dresden, New Matamoras and McArthur. He also did Missionary work in Latin America. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War. He was a life member of the VFW, AmVets, DAV and American Legion. Tom was proud to be both a devoted Christian and a military veteran.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Lena Copley Collier of Wilkesville, two daughters, Georgetta Edward von Dolin of Columbus and Nancy John Vance of Racine, WI; three grandchildren, John Thomas Vance and Amy and Anna von Dolin; a niece, Carolyn Sue Danny Haddox of Salem; a sister-in-law, Wilda Mae Collier of Greenfield; several great nieces and nephews; a sister, Ann Collier of Lexington, Ky and many adopted children, friends and neighbors.

In addition to his parents, Tom was preceded in death by a brother, William David Collier II and a nephew, William David Collier III.

Funeral services will be held 11 A.M., Tuesday, September 22, 2009 in the McArthur Church of The Nazarene, 523 N. Market St., McArthur with Pastor Pam Kraig officiating. Interment will be in Elk Cemetery, McArthur. Military services will be conducted by the McArthur VFW Post #5299. Friends may call at the Garrett-Cardaras Funeral Home, 201 W. High St., McArthur, on Monday, from 4-8 P.M and one hour prior to the service at the church.
