David Gene Miller

David Gene Miller, 69, of McArthur, died Saturday, September 19, 2009 at Twin Maples Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, McArthur. He was born July 9, 1940 in Dayton, Ohio the son of the late Carl and Rhoda Caroline Dunn Miller. He was married to Virginia K. Baer Roush Hickman Miller, who survives.

David was a welder at Marion Power and Shovel for 29 years and was a packer at Austin Powder Company. He was a member of Otterbein Church.

He is survived by his wife, Virginia, daughter, Kelly Steve Brown of Marion; sons, Anthony Debra Miller of Marion, Jeffrey Melissa Miller of McArthur, John Pam Hickman of Morral, Christopher Miller of South Bloomingville, David Nikki Miller Jr. of Marion and Joseph Betsy Hickman of Marion; 23 grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; brothers, Earle Garnet Miller of Marion, Rev. Paul Marilyn Miller of Kansas and Frederick Wanda Miller of Kentucky; sisters, Evalea Simms, Elma Dorsey, Pat Dan Binkley and Gayle Dale Simms all of Circleville; best friend, Albert Hall of McArthur and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by a sister, Ijerine DeBond; brothers-in-law, Jack Dorsey and Richard Simms and a sister-in-law, Shirley Miller.

Funeral services will be held 11 A.M., Wednesday, September 23, 2009 in the Garrett-Cardaras Funeral Home, 201 W. High St., McArthur, with Brother Dan Smith officiating. Interment will be in Locust Grove Cemetery, McArthur. Friends may call Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M and Wednesday one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
