Jack Dean McCulloch, Sr., 74, of Nelsonville, passed away Sunday, September 20, 2009 at Hickory Creek Nursing Center, The Plains. He was born April 11, 1935 in Athens County, son of the late Clyde and Lucille Robson McCulloch.

Jack was a retired Coal Miner and was a World War II veteran of the U.S. Army. He was a member of the Nelsonville VFW, Murray City American Legion and Murray City Eagles.

He is survived by three sons, Kevin Amy McCulloch of Nelsonville, Lonny Beth McCulloch of Nelsonville, and Jerry Rose McCulloch of Carbon Hill, step sons, Paul Glass and Chris Glass both of Florida; step daughters, Judy Bill Murphy of Glouster, Linda Dick Wise of Newark, Sharon John Young of Nelsonville, Connie Dave Young of Jackson, Vicki Champ of Logan and Sue Sam Mays of Carbon Hill; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; two brothers, Roger Patty McCulloch and Jim McCulloch both of Imperial and a sister, Carol Lyn Howard Brooks of Westerville.

In addition to his parents, Jack was preceded in death by his son, Jack D. McCulloch, Jr.; three step children, Bob, Joyce and Jane Glass; a brother, Bob McCulloch and a sister, Patty McCulloch.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 PM, Thursday, September 24, 2009 at Souers-Cardaras Funeral Home, 46 Fayette St., Nelsonville with Tim Kelly officiating. Burial will be at Greenlawn Cemetery, Doanville. Friends may call Wednesday, September 23, 2009 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the funeral home.
