Johnny ""Peabody"" McDaniel, 59, of McArthur, passed away Monday, September 28, 2009 at Holzer Medical Center in Jackson. He was born October 8, 1949, in Dayton, Ohio, son of the late Fred McDaniel and Lucille Southwood McDaniel. Johnny was married for 38 years to Susan Diekman McDaniel, who survives.

He owned and operated McDaniel Trucking and was a member of Grace Baptist Church in McArthur.

In addition to his wife, Johnny is survived by sons, John E. McDaniel and Richard Nikki McDaniel both of McArthur; grandchildren, Nathen, Kristaen, Jennifer and Taylor McDaniel; brothers, James Michael McDaniel of Kentucky, David McDaniel of McArthur, Rick Sherry McDaniel of Jackson and Fred Davalene McDaniel of McArthur; sisters, Mary Mark White of Creola, Rhonda Tom Barnett of McArthur and Phyllis Bige of Tennessee; a stepmother, Judith McDaniel of McArthur and several nieces, nephews and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and mother and father-in-law, Charles and Mary Dieckman.

Funeral services will be held 1 P.M., Thursday, October 1, 2009 in the Grace Baptist Church, 201 E. High St., McArthur with Pastor Carl Radcliff officiating. Interment will be in Elk Cemetery, McArthur. Friends may call at the church on Thursday, from 11 A.M., until the time of the service.

Arrangements are by Garrett-Cardaras Funeral Home, 201 W. High St., McArthur.
