Ruth E. Staten

Ruth E. Staten, 90, of Hamden, passed away Monday, October 5, 2009 at Hickory Creek Nursing Home in The Plains. She was born May 3, 1919, in Hamden, daughter of the late Hiram and Alta Snook Cox.

She was a retired LPN, a member of the Hamden United Methodist Church and a 50 year member of the Sereno Chapter 128 O.E.S. in McArthur.

Ruth is survived by a son, Donald W. Lorraine Staten of Hamden; a granddaughter, Terri Dale Forshey of Wellston; one step grandchild; two step great grandchildren and a sister, Mary Jane Zuspan of Minnesota.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by twin brothers, Carl and Earl Cox.

Funeral services will be held 11 A.M., Thursday, October 8, 2009 in the Garrett-Cardaras Funeral Home, 201 W. High St., McArthur with Rev. Rodney Rogers officiating. Interment will be in Hamden Cemetery, Hamden. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday, from 6-8 P.M. Eastern Star services will be held at 7 P.M.
