Garnet Mccollister

Garnet McCollister, 84, of Athens, passed away Saturday, November 28, 2009 at Doctors Hospital in Nelsonville. She was born May 7, 1925, in Nelsonville, daughter of the late James and Blanch E. Matheny Auflick Jr. Garnet was the widow of the late Robert W. McCollister.

She retired from William Brooks Shoe Company.

Garnet is survived by sons, James R. Marion L. James of Edmond, Oklahoma and Frank Cherie James of Athens; five grandchildren; two great grandchildren; a brother, John R. Auflick of Pitchfield, Pennsylvania and a sister, Blanch E. Erwin of McConnelsville.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters.

Funeral services will be held 1 P.M., Friday, December 4, 2009 in the Souers-Cardaras Funeral Home, 46 Fayette St., Nelsonville. Interment will be in Greenlawn Cemetery New Addition, Nelsonville. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday, from 11 A.M. until the time of the service.
