Georgia Henderson Bethel

Georgia Henderson Bethel, 80, of McArthur, passed away Thursday, December 3, 2009 at Adena Regional Medical Center in Chillicothe. She was born November 1, 1929, in McArthur, and was daughter of the late Brack McKee and Margaret Denny Henderson. Georgia was the widow of the late Robert E. Bethel.

She was a member of the McArthur Red Hat Society.

Georgia is survived by her son, J. Robert Bethel of McArthur; her daughter, Barbara Ann Bethel of McArthur, and her grandson, Joshua Augustus ""Gus"" Bethel of McArthur.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Ruby Clary, Mildred Binkley, Wilda Richards, Mae Routte, Patricia ""Portie"" Henderson, an unnamed baby, and her brothers, Clyde Henderson, Richard Henderson, and Charles Henderson.

It was Georgia's request to be cremated. A JOINT MEMORIAL service will be held for Robert E. and Georgia H. Bethel at 2 P.M., Thursday, December 17, 2009 in the Garrett-Cardaras Funeral Home, 201 W. High St., McArthur, with Pastor Scott Kazee officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

In light of Georgia's love of cats and dogs, the family suggests memorial contributions be made in memory of Georgia H. Bethel to the Georgia Bethel Animal Relief Fund at the Vinton County National Bank, 112 W. Main St., McArthur, Ohio 45651. Funds will then be distributed to needy local animal shelters.
