Kevin Dorsey Betts

Kevin Dorsey Betts, 40, of New Plymouth, passed away Tuesday, December 8, 2009 at his residence. He was born March 22, 1969, in Chillicothe, son of Betty Ackley Betts of McArthur and the late Franklin W. Betts Sr. Kevin was married to Sharon Rutter Betts, who survives.

He was a logger for Betts Logging. Kevin loved stock car racing and was a pit crew chief for Betts Motorsports.

Kevin is survived by sons, Kevin Betts Jr. and James Betts, both of Chillicothe; stepsons, Keith and Lloyd Crane of New Plymouth; a daughter, Natasha Betts of Chillicothe; step grandchildren, Kayden, Madison, Tyron and Elizabeth; brothers, Franklin Debbie Betts Jr. and Mark Pam Betts both of McArthur; sisters, Donna Jim Cordell of Obetz, Joyce Ray Farmer of South Bloomingville and his twin sister, Lisa Smith of Adelphi and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his step granddaughter, Kelsey; father-in-law, Richard Rutter; grandparents, Helen Betts, Dorsey Betts and Alvin Ackley and several aunts and uncles.

Funeral services will be held 11 A.M., Saturday, December 12, 2009 in the Garrett-Cardaras Funeral Home, 201 W. High St., McArthur with Paul Mercer officiating. Interment will be in McGee Cemetery, Vinton County. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday, from 6-8 P.M.
