Norma Helen Powell

Norma Helen Powell, 88, of Nelsonville, passed away Wednesday, December 23, 2009 at Hickory Creek Nursing Home in The Plains. She was born July 8, 1921 in Nelsonville, daughter of the late Otis and Mabel Irene Rosser Triplett. Norma was married to Charles Powell Sr., who survives. They celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary November 19, 2009.

She graduated from Nelsonville High School in 1939.

In addition to her husband, Norma is survived by sons, Dennis Brenda Powell of Germantown, Ohio, Charles E. Vicki Powell Jr. of The Plains and Randy Vicki Powell of Lebanon, Ohio; daughters, Judy Larry McDaniel of Groveport, Nancy Lewis Samuels of Dayton and Penny Bill Forsyth of Athens; thirteen grandchildren; twenty great grandchildren; a sister, Mildred Klinebriel Parlette of Alexandria; sisters-in-law, Imogene Triplett of Cincinnati and Mary Lou Triplett of Chauncey and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her brothers, Carl Triplett, Dale Triplett and Martin Triplett.

Funeral services will be held 2 P.M., Tuesday, December 29, 2009 in the Souers-Cardaras Funeral Home, 46 Fayette St., Nelsonville. Interment will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, Nelsonville. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday, from 12 noon until the time of the service.
