Ross Dewey Stivison

Ross Dewey Stivison 92 of Logan went to be with his Lord on January 23 2010. He was born November 3, 1917 in Logan, Ohio son of the late George Edward and Clara Mae Ruff Stivison. Ross married Forrest Pearl Spencer on July 30, 1938. They shared 71 happy years together and had 3 children.

In his early years, Ross worked at the former Sun Glow Furniture Factory before beginning his own business, Hocking Poultry, in 1939. Along with his wife, he ran the business until his retirement in 1978.

Ross was a longtime, faithful member of the Logan Church of the Nazarene where he taught Sunday School, sat on the church board, and served as treasurer for 39 years. He was also a member of Gideons International.

In addition to his wife, Ross is survived by a son, Thomas Cookie Stivison of Dublin, daughters, Sally Fred Weghorst of Logan and Candy McClaid of Coldwater, Michigan. Grandchildren include Christopher and Thaddeus Weghorst, Kelly Estep, Joshua Stivison, Cara Albright, Nicole Sparling, Alyson Schell, Michael McClaid, Abigail Horn, and Kathryn Shaw. He also has 26 Great Grandchildren and a brother Paul Suzanne Stivison of Logan.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a Grandaughter, Lori Weghorst, and a Son In Law, David McClaid.

Funeral Services will be held at 12 Noon on Thursday in the Logan Church of the Nazarene 650 Walhonding Ave. Logan, Ohio with Pastor Thomas Gates II and Rev. Kent Estep officiating. Interment will be in Oak Grove Cemetery, Logan. Friends may call at the Cardaras Funeral Home 183 E. Second St. Logan, Ohio on Wednesday from 2-4 & 6-8PM, and on Thursday at the church one hour prior to the services.
