Anna Grace Mcclain

Anna Grace McClain, 95, of Nelsonville, passed away Thursday, March 18, 2010 at Logan Health Care Center. She was born September 28, 1914 in Carbondale, the daughter of the late Elmer and Grace Turvey Lash. She was the widow of the late Edgar Foster McClain.

She was a 1932 graduate of Nelsonville High School, retired from the Athens County Library where she worked on the Bookmobile and attended the Oak Grove Wesleyan Church.

Anna is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Edgar F. ""Pete"" Mary Helen McClain of Nelsonville; a sister and brother-in-law, Mary Ralph Nelson of Logan; grandchildren, Brenda Kenneth Potts of Madison, IN, Glenn Cathy McClain of Carbon Hill, Terry Angie McClain of Nelsonville, Ryan Michelle McClain of Marysville, Lisa Craig Oxley of Athens and Megan Christopher Eaton of Athens; 9 great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren and a daughter-in-law, Thelma McClain of Athens.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Glenn McClain; three brothers, Paul, John and Lynn Lash and a sister, Phyllis Lash.

Funeral service will be held at 10 AM, Monday, March 22, 2010 at Souers-Cardaras Funeral Home, 46 Fayette St., Nelsonville with Rev. David Cogar officiating. Interment will be at Connett Cemetery, Nelsonville. Friends may call Sunday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the funeral home.
