Duffy Lee Smith

Duffy Lee Smith, 63, of Wellston, passed away Wednesday, April 21, 2010 at his residence. He was born July 26, 1946 in Vinton County, Ohio, son of the late Bernard and Ida Funk Smith. Duffy was married to Dinah M. Sullivan Smith, who survives.

He was a mechanic for the Vinton County School District bus garage, a Vietnam Marine Veteran and was a member of Puritan Church in Hamden.

Duffy is survived by a son, Rick Wendy Jordan of Jackson; daughters, Mary James Spears and Sharon Rick Rathburn both of Wellston; eight grandchildren; a brother, Bill Smith of Illinois and sisters, Lila Brown of Hamden, Helen Moritz of Chillicothe, Pauline Smith of Kentucky and Peggy Dever of Arizona.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Barney Smith and sister, Freda Dever.

Duffy's wishes were to be cremated. A memorial service will be held at a later date. No visitation will be held. Arrangements are by Garrett-Cardaras Funeral Home, 201 W. High St., McArthur.
