Richard ""Dick"" Fryman, 84, of Nelsonville, formerly of Stockport, passed away Saturday, April 24, at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus. He was born March 1, 1926, in Dayton and was the son of the late C.L. and Elizabeth Fryman. Dick was the widower of the late Elizabeth ""Betty"" McConnaughey Fryman who passed away April 20, 2010.
Dick was a graduate of Miami Jacobs College with a degree in accounting. He enjoyed a long accounting career and most recently retired in 2008 as an accountant for True Value Hardware in The Plains. A US Army veteran, Dick was stationed with the tank corps in Italy during World War II. Dick?s appreciation for sports held a wide interest, his love of cycling led him to build bicycles and he spent many years as a loyal fan of the Zanesville minor league baseball team. He enjoyed the arts, music and nature, and visited The Wilds regularly. He never met a stranger and made quick friends everywhere he went. He will be sadly missed and remembered with love and smiles.

He is survived by two stepsons and stepdaughters-in-law, Robert Todd Derrith Wieman Clark and and Nathan Rhonda Clark, all of Houston, Texas; his step-granddaughters, Eartha Zoe Wieman of Chicago, Illinois, and Mariah Clark, of Madison, Wisconsin; his sister Beatrice Boraiko of Apollo Beach, Florida; and sisters-in-law and brother-in-law, Joanne and Robert Sheskey of Nelsonville and Mary Morgan of Athens; a very special niece who graciously cared for him, Margaret Sheskey of Athens; and nieces and nephews, Nancy and Rocky Smathers of Buchtel, Susan and Ken Scarbro of Columbus, Linda and David Keyes of Hilliard, Debby Sheskey of Nelsonville, Kathy and Bob Moore of Newark, Keith Morgan and Dr. Lyn Peterson of Salt Lake City, Utah; and ten great nieces and nephews.
Dick was preceded in death by his parents; wife; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Jeanne and Roger Morgan and David and Betty Story McConnaughey.
Graveside services will be held 2 P.M., Wednesday, April 28, 2010 at St. Patrick Cemetery, Buchtel, with Father Dave Cornett officiating. Military graveside services will be conducted by the Combined Color Guard Unit. No calling hours will be observed. Arrangements are by Souers-Cardaras Funeral Home, 46 Fayette St., Nelsonville.
