Jesse L. Gabel Jr.

Jesse L. Gabel Jr., 85, of Logan, passed away Wednesday, May 26, 2010 at Arcadia Acres Nursing Home in Logan. He was born May 23, 1925 in Martins Ferry, Ohio, son of the late Jesse L. and Jessie Woods Gabel Sr. Jesse was married to Joanne Smith Gabel, who survives.

He owned and operated Belmont Paint and Glass in St. Clairsville, is a member of Union United Methodist Church in Logan and was a volunteer fireman in St. Clairsville for 32 years.

Jesse is survived by a daughter, Jessie Sue Robert Clawson of Mason, Ohio; six grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Sharon Stewart; two brothers, Wayne and Dave Gabel and a sister, Evelyn Berry.

A memorial service will be held 11 A.M., Saturday, May 29, 2010 in the Union United Methodist Church on Starr Rt. Rd., Logan, with Rev. Brian Arnold officiating. Friends may call at the church on Saturday, from 10:30 A.M., until the time of the service. Burial will take place 11 A.M., Wednesday, June 2, 2010 in the St. Clairsville Union Cemetery. Arrangements are by Cardaras Funeral Home, 183 E. Second Street, Logan.
