Irene J. Karcher

Irene J. Karcher, 92, of Glouster, passed away Tuesday, June 8, 2010 at Pickerington Health Care Center, surrounded by her loving family. She was born January 11, 1918, in Grimms Landing, West Virginia, daughter of the late Charles and Gertie McCall Buck. Irene was the widow of the late James Karcher.

She retired from Robison-Houcheson Optical in Columbus and was a member of Redtown Methodist Church.

Irene is survived by daughters, Wilma Jim Johnson of Hilliard and Waneta Vito Young-Petruzzelli of Glouster; seven grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; nine great great grandchildren; brothers, Herbert Buck of Grimms Landing, West Virginia and Paul Buck of Pt. Pleasant, West Virginia and sisters, Hazel Craig and Margaret Williams both of Buffalo, West Virginia.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Griffith J. Whittington; brothers, Everett D., Glen and Deldia Buck and a sister, Margrea Marie Buck.

Funeral services will be held 1 P.M., Friday, June 11, 2010 in the Cardaras Funeral Home, 30 Main Street, Glouster, with Rev. Tyler Lyon officiating. Interment will be in Maplewood Cemetery, Glouster. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday, from 3-6 P.M. and on Friday, one hour prior to the services at the funeral home.
